Flaming Pie (1997) is one of Paul McCartney's most luminous and personal albums, recorded immediately after his work on The Beatles' Anthology project, an experience that — in his own words — reminded him of the standards he used to measure himself against. Produced alongside Jeff Lynne and George Martin, and featuring contributions from Ringo Starr, Steve Miller, and his son James McCartney, the record combines the homey warmth of Calico Skies and Somedays with the rock pulse of The World Tonight and the epic closing of Beautiful Night. Nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year, it returns in 2026 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, remastered at Abbey Road Studios.
