Produced by James Ford and recorded between London, the English countryside, and Palermo, the album marks a decisive turn: the band moves away from the guitar-driven language of their earlier records to enter a colder, stranger, and more synthetic territory, of powerful ballads and anthemic melodies peeking through the mist.
