Thirty years after the premiere of Scream (1996), the meta-cinematic horror masterpiece directed by Wes Craven, Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings are bringing back Marco Beltrami's original score in a deluxe anniversary edition. Beltrami was barely thirty years old when he composed this score, in which he defined much of the sound grammar of the modern slasher: jagged strings, metallic hits, processed choirs, and a tension that breathes along with the camera. Tracks like The Cue from Hell and Tatum's Torture remain essential references of the genre. This remastered edition is presented on Woodsboro Bloodbath Red Vinyl, a limited anniversary pressing.
