Pet Sounds is the eleventh studio album by The Beach Boys, released in 1966 by Capitol Records under the creative direction of Brian Wilson, who began composing it after listening to The Beatles' Rubber Soul. The album incorporated strings, theremin, and unconventional sound effects in songs like "God Only Knows", "Wouldn't It Be Nice", and "Caroline, No". This edition corresponds to the stereo mix, which is different from the mono mix that Wilson originally supervised and preferred.
