Contra is the second studio album by Vampire Weekend, released in 2010 by XL Recordings and the band's first to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. The cover's Polaroid photograph, taken in the eighties, led to a lawsuit from the model featured, who claimed her signature on the consent form had been forged; the case ended in an out-of-court settlement. The record leans into the synthetic world music of "Horchata" and "Cousins" to expand the group's sound.
