Tasogare is the debut album by Japanese singer Mai Yamane, originally released in 1980 by Continental and now considered a cornerstone of city pop. Featuring arrangements and guitar work by Makoto Matsushita and an all-star band of Japanese jazz-funk musicians, the record blends groove, soul, and urban melancholy around the powerful, raspy voice of Yamane, who years later would gain worldwide recognition for her work alongside Yoko Kanno on the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Sampled and rediscovered by a new generation of listeners around the world, Tasogare returns in 2026 in a limited edition on transparent yellow vinyl, courtesy of Teichiku Entertainment.
