Varèse Sarabande celebrates the 40th anniversary of Blue Velvet, the masterpiece David Lynch released in 1986, with a new vinyl edition of the music composed and conducted by Angelo Badalamenti. It was here that one of cinema's most recognizable creative partnerships was born—Lynch and Badalamenti, who passed away in 2025 and 2022 respectively—a sonic universe of sinister strings and morbid romanticism that would extend to Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive. The record recovers the original 14-track sequence, featuring the score alongside 'Honky Tonk Part I' by Bill Doggett, 'In Dreams' by Roy Orbison, 'Love Letters' by Ketty Lester, and the vocal version of 'Mysteries of Love' by Julee Cruise, all presented in a collectible jacket with rainbow foil. Black vinyl edition.
