Sam Shepherd, a.k.a. Floating Points, signs his first full ballet score with 'Mere Mortals,' commissioned by Tamara Rojo for the San Francisco Ballet and premiered at the War Memorial Opera House in January 2024, featuring choreography by Aszure Barton and visuals by Hamill Industries. The work reinterprets the myth of Pandora in fourteen movements recorded alongside the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra: elegiac strings, apocalyptic brass, and the pulsating electronics Shepherd has been refining since 'Promises.'
